Being a proud atheist does not stop me - at all - from sincerely appreciating the other-worldly nature of a typical Roman Catholic place of worship. Like these.
And for the record, none of these were at The Vatican, or anywhere near it. These are just average, everyday churches (!) we found scattered around Rome.
